Cranberry Nut Bread(Club Member: Brandi Cook) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. cranberries
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 c. sifted flour
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 orange
    1/4 c. Crisco
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    In saucepan, combine cranberries and the 1/2 cup sugar.
    Cook until sauce bubbles, 8 to 10 minutes; drain. Grate peel of orange and squeeze juice into measuring cup. Add peel and enough water to make 3/4 cup liquid. Add mixture to dry ingredients with Crisco and eggs. Fold in nuts and drained cranberries. Pour into greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes. Serve with softened cream cheese.
