24 Hour Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, shredded
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1 medium red onion, sliced and separated
    10 oz. frozen peas (uncooked)
Preparation
    Layer each item in order, starting with lettuce.
    Mix 2 tablespoons sugar with 2 cups mayonnaise.
    Spread on top of peas. Sprinkle top with 4 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese.
    Refrigerate 24 hours.
