Hungarian Stuffed Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 large head green cabbage
    1/4 c. uncooked rice
    1 small onion, chopped fine
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 onion, sliced
    2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce with 1/4 can water
    1 large can tomatoes
    6 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1/2 c. brown sugar (not packed)
    garlic and bay leaf
    parsley
Preparation
    Parboil cabbage leaves in boiling salted water for 5 minutes. Drain and trim out the thick center vein.
    Combine ground meat, rice, parsley, eggs, onion, salt and pepper.
    Roll tablespoonfuls in cabbage leaves and tie with white sewing thread.
    Melt 2 tablespoons shortening in heavy skillet and brown cabbage rolls slightly on both sides.
