Snappy Strudel - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 beaten egg
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. allspice
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. baking soda, added to milk
Preparation
    Mix together like pie crust the flour, salt, sugar and shortening.
    Reserve 1 cup of this mixture and add 1 teaspoon cinnamon to it.
    To the rest of the mixture, add egg, baking powder, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and buttermilk.
    Mix well and put in 9 x 13 pan.
    Sprinkle cup of reserved mixture over top. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
