Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 large cucumbers (unpeeled), sliced
3 large onions, sliced
1/4 c. salt
1 c. cider or white vinegar
1 c. water
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. turmeric
1/2 tsp. celery seed
1/2 tsp. mustard seed
1/2 tsp. powdered ginger
1/2 tsp. dill weed or seed
Preparation

Combine cucumbers with onions.
Add salt; let stand for 2 hours, then rinse in cold water and drain.
Heat vinegar, water, sugar, turmeric, celery seed, mustard seed, ginger and dill weed to boiling point.
Add cucumbers and onions.
Simmer for about 5 minutes or until cucumbers are greenish and somewhat translucent. Pack while hot into heated jars.
