Boiled Brown Cake(A Holiday Cake) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. shortening or 1/2 margarine or butter
    1 c. seeded raisins
    1 c. pitted dates
    2 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. warm water
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 Tbsp. warm water
    4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Put first 10 ingredients in pan and bring to a boil.
    Remove from heat and let cool.
    Set in pan of cold water if you wish. Dissolve 1 teaspoon of soda in warm water and stir into mixture and then gradually beat in 4 cups flour.
    Put the walnuts in with last of flour.
    Bake in a greased Bundt type pan for 1 hour at 350\u00b0. Let cool in pan and then turn out.
