Squash Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    20 c. squash
    4 c. onions
    6 peppers, chopped
    3 c. vinegar
    4 c. sugar
    3 tsp. celery seed
    3 tsp. mustard seed
    3 tsp. turmeric
    1 (3-inch) stick cinnamon
    14 oz. pimentos
Preparation
    Sprinkle 4 teaspoons salt over sliced squash and onions. Leave for 1 hour.
    Drain well.
    Bring vinegar, sugar and spices to a boil.
    Add all ingredients.
    Bring back to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes.
    Pack into hot jars and seal.
