Glorified Rice Cream - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. water
    2/3 c. milk
    1 c. rice
    1 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. almond flavor
    slivered almonds or other nuts
    1 (12 oz.) Cool Whip or 2 c. cream
Preparation
    Cook rice in water until almost done, then add milk, sugar, salt and flavor.
    Cook until liquid is absorbed.
    Add maraschino cherries and 1 can crushed pineapple (or any fruit goes).
    When cool, fold in Cool Whip.
    Top with Danish Dessert.
