Ding Bats - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 lb. butter
    1 lb. chopped dates
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 cans coconut (1 1/3 c. in each can)
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. sugar
    2 c. Rice Krispies
Preparation
    Melt butter, chopped nuts, chopped dates, 1 can coconut, sugar and vanilla.
    Cook, stirring constantly, over low heat for 8 minutes.
    Remove from heat.
    Add Rice Krispies and mix well.
    Form into 1-inch balls and roll in remaining can of coconut.
