Hurry Up Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. softened shortening
    3/4 c. milk
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. flavoring
    1 egg
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients.
    Drop egg into shortening.
    Dump into flour mixtures; add milk and flavoring.
    Stir very well.
    Pour into small greased and floured cake tin.
    Bake in moderate oven, about 45 minutes, or bake in shallow tin.
    Frost.
    Mark into squares and place half an English walnut on each square before icing hardens.
