Minestrone Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. oil
    1 clove garlic
    2 c. onions, chopped
    1 c. celery, chopped
    4 Tbsp. parsley flakes
    1 can tomato paste
    1 can beef or chicken broth
    9 c. water
    1 c. cabbage, coarsely chopped
    2 carrots, sliced
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/8 tsp. sage
    1 can kidney beans
    1 zucchini, thinly sliced
    1 ppkg. frozen or canned green beans
    1 c. macaroni (elbow)
    grated Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    Heat oil in large saucepan.
    Add garlic, onion, celery, and parsley;
    cook until tender.
    Stir in tomato paste and next 7 ingredients (down to beans).
    Mix well; bring to a boil.
    Lower heat; cover and simmer slowly 1 hour.
    Add remaining ingredients except cheese.
    Cook 10 to 15 min. or until macaroni is tender. Serve piping hot with plenty of cheese.
    Makes 8 generous servings.
