Tomato Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. prepared tomatoes
    1/4 c. lemon juice
    1 1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind
    4 1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1 box Sure-Jell fruit pectin
Preparation
    Using regular
    Sure-Jell
    follow
    directions for 5 to 8 ounce cups scald,
    peel and chop tomatoes (approximately 2 1/2 pounds). Cover
    and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Measure 3 cups into
    6
    to
    8 ounce quart saucepan.
    Add lemon juice and rind.
    Measure
    sugar
    and\tset aside.
    Stir n Sure-Jell into mixture and
    bring\tto
    a boil over high heat, stirring. Instantly add sugar,
    stir to full boil.
    Boil hard for 1 minute. Stir occasionally.\tSkim off foam.\tLadle into jars, leaving 1/4 inch
    atop.
    Fill
    jars
    with hot tomatoes.
    Screw bands on firmly.
