Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. raw peanuts
    2/3 c. white corn syrup
    2/3 c. water
    2 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Combine sugar, peanuts, syrup and water in saucepan.
    Cook over low heat until mixture comes to a boil.
    Cook until candy thermometer registers 290\u00b0.
    Remove from heat and stir in soda. Spread thinly onto 2 buttered cookie sheets.
    Cool and break into pieces.
    Yields about 2 pounds.
