Baked Cabbage - cooking recipe

1 head cabbage (about 2 1/2 lb.)
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 Tbsp. flour
2 tsp. salt
1 c. hot milk
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Butter a 12 x 8-inch shallow baking dish.
Discard outer leaves from cabbage.
Wash head of cabbage. Cut into 1-inch wedges.
Pour 1 cup water in large skillet and bring to boiling.
Add 1 teaspoon salt and the cabbage.
Cook over medium heat, covered, 10 minutes.
Drain well.
