Governor'S Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    head of lettuce, cut up
    3/4 c. red onions, chopped
    3/4 c. green peppers, chopped
    3/4 c. celery, chopped
    1 pkg. frozen peas
    1 1/4 c. mayo
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 lb. shredded cheese
    1 c. bacon bits
Preparation
    Layer the first 4 ingredients. Add the peas in a pan and pat down. Mix mayo with sugar; cover the first 4 layers of ingredients. Top with cheese and bacon bits. Best made the day before. Make in a 9 x 13-inch pan. Serves 10 to 15.
