Italian Bean And Sausage Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. Italian sausage (hot or mild)
    2 medium onions, cut into 3/4-inch pieces
    1 clove garlic or 1 tsp. garlic powder
    1 (28 oz.) can Italian plum tomatoes
    16 oz. can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
    2/3 c. picante sauce
    1/2 tsp. basil leaves, crushed
    1/2 tsp. oregano, crushed
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch, dissolved in 1 Tbsp. water
    1 large green pepper, cut into 3/4-inch pieces
    1 medium zucchini (1 1/2 c.), cut into 3/4-inch pieces
    2 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    Cut sausage into 3/4-inch pieces; remove casing.
    Cook in large saucepan over medium-low heat until lightly browned.
    Add onions and garlic; cook until sausage is no longer pink, about 3 minutes.
    Pour off fat.
    Add tomatoes, beans, sauce, basil and oregano.
    Bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes.
    Add green pepper, zucchini and cornstarch mixture; continue cooking 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender and sauce is thickened. Sprinkle with cheese.
    Serves 6.
