Esther'S Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. boiling water
    1 c. oatmeal (quick or old fashioned)
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    1/2 c. margarine
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. cocoa
    6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
    3/4 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over oatmeal.
    Let stand 10 minutes.
    Add brown and white sugar and margarine.
    Stir until margarine melts. Add eggs and mix well. Sift flour, cocoa, salt and soda.
    Add to mixture plus 1/2 cup chocolate chips.
    Pour batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Sprinkle rest of chocolate chips and the nuts on top. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes. Good served with whipped cream or ice cream.
