Caramel Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. light brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    1 stick margarine
    3/4 c. Carnation milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients, except vanilla.
    Bring to a boil, then cook on low heat until it forms soft ball in cold water.
    Cool, then heat until thick enough to spread on cake.
    Add a little powdered sugar if it does not get thick enough.
    Also, add vanilla.
