Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1-1/2 c. sugar
2-1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
2 bottles red food color (1 oz. each)
1 Tbsp. vinegar
2 eggs
pinch of salt
1 c. buttermilk
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. soda
Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening until creamy.
Add eggs.
Beat well.
Add flour with salt alternately with buttermilk.
Add vanilla.
Make a paste of food color and cocoa.
Add to batter and beat well.
Mix vinegar and soda and add to batter, mixing well. Makes three layers.
Bake 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
