Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 lb. fine cornmeal
1 Tbsp. salt
1/4 tsp. soda (pinch)
1 egg
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 c. buttermilk
1 small onion, finely chopped

Preparation

Mix together; add water a little at a time to make a batter of thick consistency.
Drop into hot oil (375\u00b0) and cook until brown. Serve hot.
