Beef Goulash Woodstock - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    3 lb. top round beef
    2 medium Spanish sweet onions, thinly sliced
    2 Tbsp. Hungarian paprika
    flour
    salt and pepper
    1 pt. tomato juice
Preparation
    Heat shortening; add beef, cut into 1 1/2-inch square pieces. Brown quickly.
    Add onions, paprika and a little flour; let simmer for 10 minutes on slow fire, then add salt, pepper and tomato juice and water to cover the meat.
    Stir gently to blend the ingredients.
    Let cook slowly until the meat gives under finger pressure.
    Serve in casserole with quartered tomatoes and green pepper as garnish.
