Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    baked pastry shell
    3 oz. cream cheese
    2 pt. fresh strawberries
    1 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    sweetened whipped cream
Preparation
    Make 9-inch pastry shell and let cool completely.
    Spread softened cream cheese on bottom of pastry shell.
    Put 1 pint of strawberries in shell.
    Mash the other pint of strawberries very well and add sugar and cornstarch.
    Cook over low heat until thick, stirring constantly.
    Cool mixture and then pour over berries in pie.
    Chill thoroughly and just prior to serving, garnish with whipped cream.
