Playful Dough Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2/3 c. butter or margarine
1/3 c. sugar
food coloring
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 2/3 c. flour

Preparation

Beat butter until softened.
Add sugar.
Beat until fluffy. Beat in vanilla.
Gradually add flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Divide mixture into several parts.
Add food coloring to each part, kneading with your hands until smooth. Form the dough into shapes about 3/4-inch thick.
Place cookies about 1-inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake until firm, not brown.
Bake at 300\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
Makes about 2 cups of dough.
