Quick Corn Light Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. self-rising corn meal
    1 c. self-rising flour
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    2 1/4 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Grease a loaf pan thoroughly; lightly dust with flour.
    Combine dry ingredients in mixing bowl.
    Stir in shortening and buttermilk.
    Let mixture set in pan about 15 minutes, then bake for about 45 minutes.
    Cover pan with a tea towel and let cool.
