Yow'S Yum Yum Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. grated pineapple
    2 pkg. plain gelatin
    about 25 cherries
    1/4 tsp. salt
    juice of 1 lemon
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. grated cheese
    1/2 pt. whipping cream (no Cool Whip)
Preparation
    Bring lemon juice, pineapple and sugar to a boil.
    Dissolve gelatin in 1/3 cup cold water and add to hot mixture; cool.
    Add whipped cream, cut up cherries and cheese.
    Let congeal.
    Serve on lettuce leaf or add homemade mayonnaise and chopped cashew nuts.
