Apricot Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. margarine
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 c. quick cooking oats (uncooked)
    1 (10 oz.) jar apricot preserves
Preparation
    Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
    Combine flour, soda and oats; add to creamed mixture. Press half of the crumb mixture into the bottom of a cookie sheet. Spread preserves over pressed crumb mixture. Sprinkle remainder of crumb mixture over preserves.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 15 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
    Yield: approximately 4 dozen.
