Toffee Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 c. brown sugar, packed
    1 egg yolk
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    6 Hershey candy bars (no nuts)
    1/2 c. nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Cream butter, brown sugar, egg yolk and vanilla extract.
    Stir in salt and flour until well blended.
    Spray cookie sheet with cooking spray and pour mixture onto pan.
    Pat entire mixture over the surface, sprinkling flour where needed to keep the mixture from sticking to your fingers.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes, being careful not to over brown.
    It will be a soft dough.
    Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate pieces over cookie.
    When melted, spread over all.
    Cut bars while warm.
