Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1/2 c. Crisco
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. plain flour
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 small can coconut
    5 eggs, separated
Preparation
    Beat whites until stiff.
    Cream margarine and shortening.
    Add sugar and beat until smooth.
    Add egg yolks; beat well.
    Combine flour and soda.
    Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk.
    Stir in vanilla.
    Add nuts and coconut.
    Fold in beaten egg whites.
    Pour batter into 3 floured and greased 9-inch cake pans.
    Bake 25 to 30 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
    Cool and frost cake with the following frosting.
