Hamburger Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. ground beef
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. oregano
    1/4 tsp. basil
    1/8 tsp. savory salt
    1 pkg. onion soup mix
    6 c. boiling water
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 c. celery, sliced crosswise
    1 c. celery leaves (optional)
    1 c. elbow macaroni
    1 c. sliced carrots
    Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    In a large saucepan, brown meat with oil.
    Add salt, pepper, oregano, basil, savory salt and onion soup mix.
    Cover; simmer for about 15 minutes.
    Prepare celery, celery leaves and carrots, then add to simmering mixture and continue to cook for 30 more minutes. Add macaroni and carrots; simmer for an additional 30 minutes. Serve in bowls topped with Parmesan cheese.
    French bread goes well with this.
