Chicken And Rice - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 envelope dried onion soup mix
1 c. rice (not quick cooking!)
8 to 12 skinned chicken breasts and/or thighs
1 can sliced water chestnuts
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
sliced fresh mushrooms (optional)
1 soup can water
Preparation

Mix onion soup mix, rice, mushrooms and water chestnuts in bottom of casserole; pour at least half of the canned soups and water into the other mixture and mix well.
Salt chicken pieces and place on top of other mixture.
Pour remaining soups and water over entire mixture.
Bake, covered, at 350\u00b0 for about 1 1/2 hours, or until chicken is tender.
Raise chicken pieces now and then and stir rice mixture to make sure it is loose and moist.
Uncover near end of cooking time.
