Kentucky Biscuits(Makes 12) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    dash of salt
    1 Tbsp. granulated sugar
    1/2 c. oleo or shortening
    3/4 c. buttermilk
    1 Tbsp. melted butter
    all-purpose flour (optional)
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients in mixing bowl.
    Cut in oleo or shortening with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    Add buttermilk.
    Mix quickly to make a soft dough.
    Turn out onto a lightly floured surface.
    Knead a few times, don't over knead or the biscuits will turn hard and dry.
    Roll out to a 6 x 6-inch square.
    Place on ungreased pan.
    Cut into 12 portions.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 about 15 minutes.
