Brown Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar, divided
    1/8 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. Pet milk
    1/4 c. butter
    2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
Preparation
    Pour 1 cup sugar into black iron skillet and place over low heat until melted and light
    brown in color.
    Do not burn. Stir constantly with wooden
    spoon.
    Do\tnot
    cook
    fast.
    It takes about 15 minutes
    of
    constant
    stirring (but it's worth it).
