Waccamaw Salad(Or 7 Layer Salad) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head iceberg lettuce
    1 chopped onion
    1 carton frozen green peas, thawed
    2 c. shredded mild Cheddar
    bacon bits, made from 1 lb. cooked bacon
    6 boiled eggs, sliced
    about 2 c. mayonnaise
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 tsp. sugar
Preparation
    Line clear glass salad bowl with eggs up to halfway.
    Fill 1/2 bowl with lettuce.
    Layer onion and peas (1/2 of each).
    Sprinkle salt, pepper and sugar (1/2 of each).
    Layer bacon, eggs and cheese.
    Repeat.
    Spread enough mayonnaise on top to completely cover salad and seal top.
