Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 c. white corn syrup
    1/2 c. cold water
    2 egg whites
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped walnuts, pecans or cashews
Preparation
    In saucepan, thoroughly mix sugar, syrup and cold water.
    Beat egg whites until stiff.
    Now boil sugar mixture until it forms a soft ball in cold water.
    Pour 1/2 of it only into egg whites, beating all the while.
    Return other half of syrup to heat and boil until it forms a hard ball in cold water.
    Pour this syrup into egg white mixture while beating, until quite firm and stands in peaks. Fold in vanilla and nuts.
