Marinated Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 large firm ripe tomatoes
    1 onion, sliced thin
    1 green pepper, cut into thin strips
    a little pepper
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. water
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. salad oil
Preparation
    Peel the tomatoes and cut into wedges.
    Put in a large bowl along with onion and green pepper.
    Sprinkle on salt and pepper. Mix together the vinegar, water, sugar and salad oil.
    Stir to dissolve sugar.
    Pour over vegetables and chill.
