Cabbage Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1 c. cooked rice
    1 small chopped onion
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    1 egg
    1 or 2 tsp. salt
    1/4 to 1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 or 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 or 2 Tbsp. water
    6 thick slices bacon, cut in half, cooked until crisp and drained
    12 thin slices Gruyere cheese, halved
    4 eggs, lightly beaten
    2 c. light cream or creme fraiche, thinned with milk
    1 Tbsp. flour
    nutmeg
    cayenne pepper
    white pepper
    1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
Preparation
    Line pie shell with bacon and cheese slices overlapping to cover bottom of crust.
    Combine eggs, cream, flour, pinch of nutmeg, cayenne and black pepper.
    Beat well.
    Strain and pour over bacon and cheese slices.
    Bake in hot oven, 450\u00b0, for 15 minutes.
    Reduce heat to 325\u00b0 and bake for 30 minutes.
