Banana Split Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 sticks butter or margarine, melted
2 c. vanilla wafer crumbs
2 c. powdered sugar
1 1/2 sticks soft margarine
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
5 to 6 bananas
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 (15 1/4 oz.) can crushed pineapple
1 large carton Cool Whip
1/4 c. nuts, chopped
maraschino cherries
Preparation

Blend 1 1/2 sticks melted margarine and vanilla wafer crumbs. Press into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
Mix powdered sugar, 1 1/2 sticks soft margarine, eggs and vanilla.
Beat 5 minutes, then pour on crust.
Split bananas lengthwise.
Roll them in lemon juice to preserve the color.
Lay slices on top of cream mixture.
Drain pineapple and spread over bananas.
Beat the Cool Whip and spread over top.
Sprinkle cake with chopped nuts.
Place a cherry in the middle of each anticipated serving.
Refrigerate at least an hour before serving.
