Fresh Apple Cake With Vanilla Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1 egg, well beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
3 medium apples, peeled and finely grated
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. flour

Preparation

Cream together sugar and shortening.
Beat in egg and stir in apples.
Sift dry ingredients together and stir into apple mixture along with walnuts. Pour into greased 8-inch square pan and bake 45 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Serve with hot sauce.
