Autumn Apple Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (20 oz.) crushed pineapple (all)
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 to 1 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. diced unpeeled apples
    1 c. Cool Whip
    1 (3 oz.) box lemon Jell-O
    8 oz. cream cheese, softened
    1 c. chopped celery
Preparation
    Mix pineapple and sugar.
    Bring to a boil for 3 minutes.
    Add lemon Jell-O.
    Stir until thoroughly dissolved.
    Add cream cheese. Stir and set aside to cool.
    Combine apple mixture and pineapple mixture.
    Pour into a square 9-inch bowl and chill until firm.
