Roast Lamb With Cherries - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (7 1/2 to 8 lb.) leg of lamb
    2 large garlic cloves, cut into quarters
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/4 tsp. ground pepper
    2 small onions, halved
    4 small celery stalks, diced
    2 small carrots, diced
    2 c. pitted sour cherries, packed in syrup
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Make several small slits over the surface of the lamb and insert garlic quarters.
    Blend salt, sugar and black pepper. Rub well into lamb.
