Shredded Yams - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. sweet potatoes (raw)
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/2 stick margarine
1/2 c. white Karo syrup
1 c. pineapple juice
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Mix sugar and water; cook until syrup. Add margarine.
Shred yams into a gallon of water.
Add 1 tablespoon salt.
Drain and wash well.
Put in Pyrex dish, 12 x 6 x 3-inch.
Pour pineapple juice over, then syrup.
Cook at 350\u00b0 in oven for 35 minutes or until they are transparent.
Serves 12. For best taste, many like the potatoes baked for approximately one hour.
