Fried Okra - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 cups sliced okra
    1/2 cup milk
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp pepper
    3/4 cup cornmeal
    vegetable oil
Preparation
    Combine okra, milk, and seasonings in a shallow dish; let stand 1 hour or until most of milk is absorbed.
    Dredge in cornmeal.
    Fry okra in deep hot oil (375 degrees) until golden brown.
    Drain.
    Serve immediately.
    Serves 4.
