Beet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 cups sugar
    2 cups water
    2 cups vinegar
    1 cinnamon stick
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Cook beets till tender.
    Slip skins by putting in cold water. Cut to size desired and put into boiling brine mixture.
    Return to boil.
    Put into sterilized jars and seal.
