Shoo-Fly Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flour
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. dark molasses
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Mix together flour, sugar and shortening.
    Reserve 1 cup of mixture for on top of cake.
    In another bowl, mix molasses and baking soda.
    Add boiling water slowly, stirring.
    Pour molasses mixture into flour mixture and stir.
    Pour into greased and floured cake pan.
    Sprinkle reserved flour mixture over top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 50 minutes.
