Elva Green'S Version Of Chicken Cacciatore - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 chicken, cut up in pieces with skin removed
    2 (16 oz.) cans stewed tomatoes with green peppers and onions
    1 (8 oz.) can mushrooms (stems and pieces)
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 clove garlic, crushed (optional)
    1 Tbsp. Mrs. Dash garlic and herb
    1 Tbsp. Italian seasoning
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 to 1 tsp. Season-All to taste
    1 green pepper, cut in chunks
    2 large onions, cut in chunks
Preparation
    Use a Dutch oven type pot.
    Put dark pieces of chicken in pot along with all other ingredients except for white meat.
    Simmer for about 15 minutes, then add the white pieces of chicken.
    Cook for approximately 1 to 1 1/4 hours until meat is tender.
    Remove bay leaf before eating.
    This recipe may be enjoyed alone, with noodles or over rice.
    Have a green salad with it.
