Vat-Bollen(Or Ole Cookin) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. milk
    2 pkg. yeast
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    2 c. raisins
    2 eggs
    7 to 8 c. flour
Preparation
    Scald
    milk.
    Let cool; when lukewarm, add yeast dissolved in a little warm water.
    Add
    sugar,
    salt, shortening,
    raisins,
    eggs and enough flour to make a soft batter.
    Takes about 7 to 8 cups flour.
    Let rise until double the amount.
    Cut down, then fry in deep fryer.
    Drop by tablespoon in deep fryer, dipping spoon in cold water each time to prevent batter sticking to spoon.
    Turn dough balls over and fry for only a few minutes.
    Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon or powdered sugar.
    Makes about 60.
