Grandma'S Frosted Creams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening (lard)
    1 egg
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. hot water in which 2 tsp. soda is dissolved
    1 c. molasses (light is better; may use dark)
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening; add egg and molasses.
    Add hot water and soda.
    Add flour and mix well.
    Bake in 10 x 15-inch ungreased pan at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
    Frost with cream cheese frosting or sprinkle with sifted powdered sugar.
