Hearty Corn Chowder - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
3 Tbsp. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped celery
3 Tbsp. chopped green pepper
1/2 c. sliced fresh or canned mushrooms (optional)
1/2 lb. precooked turkey smoked sausage, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 1/2 c. diced, peeled potatoes (uncooked)
2 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. caraway seed (optional)
3 Tbsp. flour
1/2 c. milk
2 c. hot milk
2 c. canned corn
oyster crackers or croutons
Parmesan cheese
Preparation

In large, heavy saucepan, stock pot or Dutch oven, saute the onion, celery, green pepper and mushrooms in the vegetable oil until the onion is lightly browned.
Add the turkey smoked sausage and continue cooking for 2 minutes.
Add the diced potatoes, water, salt, pepper and caraway seed.
Simmer for 45 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
