Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick butter or margarine
    1/2 c. Crisco shortening
    2 c. sugar
    5 egg yolks
    1 tsp. soda
    2 c. plain flour
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. coconut
    1 c. pecans (chopped)
    5 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation
    Cream butter, sugar and Crisco.
    Beat until smooth; add egg yolks, beat well, combining flour and soda.
    Add alternately with buttermilk.
    Add vanilla, coconut and pecans.
    Fold in egg whites. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Cool.
    Makes 3 layers.
