Herbed Rice - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 medium onion, chopped
1 Tbsp. margarine
1 c. uncooked long grain rice
1 (14 1/2 oz.) can chicken broth
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp. dried thyme
1/4 tsp. dried rosemary
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. chopped parsley
1/4 c. toasted peanuts
Preparation

Saute onion in margarine about 5 minutes.
Stir in rice and cook until rice is coated with butter and translucent.
Add water to broth to make 2 cups.
Stir into rice.
Add bay leaf, thyme, rosemary and salt.
Bring to a boil; reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 20 minutes until rice is tender and liquid absorbed. Remove bay leaf.
Stir in nuts, if desired, and parsley.
